Along the same line, Publishing Stacks will be transparent about what's under the hood:

We use a Google Analytics javascript snippet to generate traffic reports and summaries. This data is in aggregate and does not specifically identify a given site user's patterns. Metrics returned include:

  • Pages that our users visit
  • Whether a mobile or desktop browser
  • Device brands in use, by percentage
  • Landing page counts (landing pages are the entry point for site viewers)
  • and more

At this time, we do not combine Google Analytics data with other 3rd-party trackers or with deeper Google services. It is neither a goal nor a profit model of this site to relay profile information of our users to other businesses, for purposes of advertising or other.

Our email subscriptions are serviced through MailChimp. Statistics in this dashboard allow us to see which addresses opened a given email campaign, and whether links were clicked in the mail.

We believe in a web/ internet that takes user privacy very seriously.

Affiliate Linking will in certain cases include affiliate links to services and products mentioned in articles. If affiliate linking is present on a page, you'll see a box like this one.

When site visitors follow an affiliate link, the link itself is structured so that the company providing this product or service is aware that the inbound visitor arrived from Subsequently, if the visitor then purchases that product or service, a small commission of sale is granted to Rivermile, the parent company of Publication.Graphics.

It is our policy to only utilize affiliate linking for products and services that we genuinely recommend. As an example, with website hosting recommendations, we will only include affiliate links to hosts that we've actually used – and would happily see our friends and clients using as well.  We recognize that if we provide affiliate links to bad products, it's a reflection on us.

Affiliate linking is not expected to be a major revenue producer for this site. At best, we would hope to offset some of the material costs that go into our website and other channels.
